2013 Vinton County Air Show

On Sunday, September 15th, from 11 am to 5 pm, the Vinton County Airport will host the 43rd Annual Air Show. It is a free event with a $10 fee for parking. A multitude of airplanes of all size and age with be on display.

Remote control pilots and aircraft will give performances and actual air plane rides will start after the air show is over. BBQ dinners are prepared on site and will be available at 11 am. Other food and drink will be available as well. Bring a lawn chair and be prepared to watch aerial acrobatics, parachute jumping and hang gliders.  Eight performers are scheduled. A candy drop at the end of the air show is scheduled for the kids.

The airport receives no support from the county so they depend on fund raisers such as this to keep the airport open. All the performers donate their time and efforts. The Vinton County Pilots and Boosters thank you in advance for your generous support of the Vinton County Airport.

The airport is located off State Route 93 just six miles north of McArthur on Airport Road. Signs will be posted. For more information about the airport click here. The following two videos were taken at last years air show and the third is a sunset airplane tour of the Hocking Hills.

Video 1 - A biplane does some AMAZING aerial acrobatics. Must see to believe.

Video 2 - Harry Sowers of Hocking Hills Scenic Tours "hijacks" a plane.

Video 3 - A sunset airplane tour of the Hocking Hills.

So mark your calendars for this Sunday and plan a trip to Vinton county. It sure looks like fun to me!
